A training offer that wants to bring or bring back jazz music in the musical atmosphere of our time. Quoting the statement, "When you don’t know what it is, then it’s jazz!" of the famous twentieth century, literary character born from the pen of Alessandro Baricco, we believe it is important to turn the spotlight on this musical genre.
Since the 1920s, but in a more deeply rooted and conscious way since the post-war period, the great jazz tradition of our country was born. They welcome and rework rhythms coming from overseas giving life to the "new music" that in those years conquered the country. Open now to avant-garde suggestions, now to more consolidated settings, this passion has remained intact over the decades and still today catalyzes many fans of music always "work in progress".
In this impalpable essence, in his continuous search for emotions between sounds and dissonances, one can perhaps identify the reasons for the fascination that jazz has always exerted on musicians and on those who in various ways approach this musical genre.
By promoting this project, the school wants to give body and visibility to the sounds of a passion arrived to date thanks to the expertise and commitment of many musicians including the teachers who will take care of the courses presented here.
For all courses it will be possible to follow the pre-academic or academic path, with programs similar to university, or independent (amateur) based on programs prepared ad hoc by the teacher based on the attitude, expectations and learning times of the student. All the main courses include the possibility to follow the various complementary activities, both theoretical and ensemble music. The teacher will direct the student towards the activities considered most useful and suitable according to the level of the student.
The Fondazione Fossano Musica strongly believes that the basis of a good learning is a reasoned and conscious choice. For this reason the student is accompanied to know the educational activities of the school by booking a free trial lesson through which it will be possible to know the teachers and evaluate together the correct path of studies to be undertaken.
