Norma Fantini Opera Experience

Introduction

The Fondazione Fossano Musica has a well-established tradition of constant attention to training and in addition to offering the musician high quality services, the further objective is the dissemination, awareness-raising and support for local music culture. Today, more than in other historical periods, there is a need to keep alive the interest in musical art at every level.

With these assumptions the various masterclasses and seminars are configured, in principle, as a musical weekend dedicated to those who wish to deepen the technical-stylistic knowledge of the students, under the guidance of Norma Fantini, one of the greatest sopranos in our country and beyond, with the aim of ensuring a complete and coordinated professional preparation. An additional opportunity for those who wish to have moments of confrontation with a great artist. Generally with a limited number, requests for participation will be satisfied until all places are available, according to the chronological order of arrival of the questions, unless otherwise indicated by the teacher.

The offer

The course on an annual basis includes lessons and masterclasses.

The peculiarity of the proposal is found in the activity of Laboratorio Musicale provided by the training offer. The future artists need opportunities to live the direct experience of the stage and that is why based on the attitudes and characteristics of each will be created the conditions for a genuine professional experience that offers the opportunity to perform and live this experience right in the delicate phase in which you are heading towards the professional world.

The objective of the project Norma Fantini Opera Experience is the activation of the following main sections

  • Singers
  • Master collaborators (pianist, prompters)
  • Opera lab

Master collaborators

The master collaborator is a key figure in the Italian tradition of opera.

The aim of the course is the complete training of the master collaborator in the following specificities:

  • - accompanying pianist
  • - prompter or recaller
  • - master preparer

 Each student will be guided:

  • - the search for the correct piano sound;
  • - knowledge of management techniques;
  • - towards full and in-depth knowledge of the potential of the voice;
  • - awareness of the "tradition" of the work;
  • - towards the difficult role of master preparer (expert technical-vocal guide, musical for the opera singer).

Opera lab

Each student will be guided to:

  • - awareness of one’s own voice;
  • - knowledge of scenic and acting art;
  • - knowledge of the structure and functions of an opera house;
  • - awareness of the proper management of physiology related to lyrical singing;
  • - The possibility to live the direct experience of the stage, combining the formative moment with that of the public performance.
